I just wanted to say that I have good memories of Carl from medical school. He was a few years above me and taught me a lot when we did St. John's Ambulance volunteer work. I remember a kind man who was unswervingly passionate about pre-hospital medicine. He always made our trips out to do first aid work at gigs and events fun and exciting - his interest was contagious and I've never forgotten that even though it must be 10 years since I've seen him.
