Carl was amazing. I wouldn't be the doctor I am without him. He was a brilliant talent and a lovely man. He inspired confidence and always had time for the juniors. As a daunted junior SHO in A&E at Derby he gave me the confidence that I COULD do it, taught me tricks of the trade, and always had time to help. I always hoped he'd be on shift. A shining light in my training, I will always remember him. Thank you Carl for your help. I wish I'd made a point and told you in person back then how much more bearable you made my time in A&E knowing you'd got my back. Rest in peace buddy X
